This course is designed to equip disaster managers with skills and knowledge in identifying organizational resources, determining roles and responsibilities, developing policies and procedures and planning activities in order to reach a level of preparedness to be able to respond timely and effectively to a disaster should one occur. The actual planning process is preliminary in nature and is performed in a state of uncertainty until an actual emergency or disaster occurs. After a disaster occurs, plans must be adapted to the actual situation.
Objectives of Disaster Preparedness Planning:
The training is designed to equip delegates with knowledge and skills to effectively develop plans based on disaster risk analysis. This training shall also empower delegates with skills to prioritize plans and planning efforts to support their seamless transition from development to execution for any threat or hazard.
Training Duration: This training shall be covered within five (5) days.
Training Prerequisite: It is recommended that participants at management or supervisory level to have basic disaster knowledge preferably to have undergone Incident Command System (ICS).
